Getting started with YarnHub
Last updated
YarnHub keeps your yarn stash, your projects, and your crafting tools in one place across iOS, Android, and the web. This guide covers the first ten minutes.
Create your account
YarnHub uses email and password sign-in. On first launch you will be taken to the sign-up screen. Enter your email, choose a password, and confirm. You will be signed in automatically once your account is created.
If you already have an account, tap Sign in at the bottom of the screen. Forgotten your password? Use Forgot password and we will email you a reset link.
Set your region
This is the setting that matters most, and it is worth getting right before you add anything.
YarnHub stores yarn weights and tool sizes in a neutral internal format and displays them in the system you choose. Set your region to US, UK, or AU in your profile and every yarn weight, needle size, and hook size across the app will be shown the way you expect.
You can change it at any time. Nothing is re-saved or converted destructively. Only the display changes.
Find your way around
The tab bar is the main navigation:
- Stash. The yarn you personally own, with quantities and remaining amounts.
- Catalogue. The global database of yarns from many brands, shared by all users.
- Projects. What you are making, with pattern PDFs and row counters.
- Tools. Calculators and converters for gauge, yardage, and sizing.
- Community. A shared feed of what other crafters are working on.
Next steps
Once you are signed in, the natural first move is to add your first yarn to your stash.
