Your data and deleting your account

What we store

YarnHub holds the things you would expect from an app that tracks a stash:

  • Account details. Your email address and an encrypted password hash.
  • Your stash. The yarns you have added, quantities, colourways, and any photos you attach.
  • Your projects. Names, notes, row counts, and any pattern PDFs you upload.
  • Community posts. Anything you choose to share to the feed.
  • Preferences. Your regional setting and display options.

Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Exporting your data

You can request a copy of your data from your profile settings. We will send it to your registered email address as a machine-readable file.

Deleting your account

Deletion is available from Profile → Account → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm, because it cannot be undone.

Deleting your account removes your stash, your projects, your uploaded files, and your account record.

Two things worth understanding before you do it:

Community posts. If you have posted to the community feed, tell us whether you want those removed as well. Anonymising rather than deleting them keeps replies from other users intact, which is usually the kinder option for people who were in the conversation.

Catalogue contributions. Yarns you added to the global catalogue stay there. The catalogue is a shared resource that other users rely on, and entries in it are not personal data. They describe commercially available products, not you. Your name is not attached to them.

If you would rather delete your account by email than in the app, write to us and we will handle it.
